Andy Jancewicz BSc(Hons), PGCHE, Fellow HEA - (former Senior Lecturer and Clinic Tutor)–

I initially started studying Tai Chi around 1986 with the first qualified Tai Chi Master in this country, namely Dr John Kells who founded the British Tai Chi Chuan Association.

John Kells started his Tai Chi in 1967 studying in London, Boston, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Vancouver. He had 9 teachers, the best being Dr Chi Chiang-Tao (born 1919) who was Prof. Cheng Man-Ching’s top student.

I studied with the British Tai Chi Chuan Association for about 5 years (1986 -1991) before leaving in order to complete my 3 year practitioner training in Shiatsu.

I also studied briefly with Rose Li in London, Kings Cross and Wu style Tai Chi with Gary Wragg in London, Portland Place and was taught Dragon and Tiger Qi Gong by Chris Chappell of Brick Lane, London.  .

Additionally I also dabbled in Wudang tai chi for a short period with a student of Dan Dochetry’s, in Regents Street, London.

During my Shiatsu career I had the opportunity to learn the “18 Stance Tai Chi Chi Gung (Qi Gong) Shibashi” form with Jane Pollard and Chris Jarmey, the Principle of the European Shiatsu School.

Over the years I have taught Tai Chi and / or 18 Stance Tai Chi Qi Gong Shibashi for all of the following;
